COVID-19 is inspiring many community members to think about producing and consuming more local food—including growing their own in residential and community gardens. To support this movement, we’re building on existing urban agriculture programs to help you take action on food security, get your “green thumbs” dirty and grow your own food.
Kids Get Growing Gardening Kit
We’ve provided 700 garden kits for children in Guelph-Wellington and Build Your Own Gardening Kits online. Home gardening is a great way to provide food for your family, learn more about food production, and spend time together.
This program is part of the Urban Agriculture priority area in the broader Grow Back Better plan, a series of initiatives to support our response to COVID-19.
What’s in the kit?
- Vegetable Seeds and a Seedling
