An online and place-based workshop series to support cooperatives and the solidarity economy from a BIPOC perspective.

Freedom Dreams Cooperative Education Program is an online and place-based workshop series that shares knowledge about cooperatives and the solidarity economy from a Black, Indigenous and Person of Colour (BIPOC) perspective.

Our long-term vision is to see communities of colour launch food and farm cooperatives that increase local food access within these communities while increasing representation and inclusivity within Canada's co-op sector.

To arrive at this freedom dream, we will empower participants with knowledge about the histories and experiences of cooperation among the BIPOC diaspora so that they can see themselves reflected in the co-op movement, and we will equip participants with the technical expertise to ideate, launch and operate co-operative businesses so that those reflections can become realities.

The Freedom Dreams Cooperative Education Program is a collaborative that will seek to invite cooperators within the community to co-facilitate and offer workshops with the ultimate goal that the program itself become a worker-owned educational cooperative.
