Food Hub Study

A survey of services and infrastructure in Guelph-Wellington was conducted

In partnership with NGen Advanced Manufacturing Supercluster, Our Food Future commissioned a study to assess the supports, facilities and other infrastructure needed to create an innovative circular agri-food system.  No single part of the food system stands alone, yet it is often difficult to decode the connections in order to understand the gaps that create risk or the opportunities that could embed resilience.

Working with Michael Keegan and Pollinate, a survey of services and infrastructure in Guelph-Wellington was conducted, followed by deeper interviews and system assessment. The resulting feasibility report identified three critical systems of support that a food hub could provide to a region’s local agrifood industry, as well as estimating the timelines and costs of each pathway.
